When & Why DHSF

The Dr. Ronald E. Hodges Fund (DHSF) was created in 2022 by Dr. Hodges to provide financial assistance in to form of scholarships to high graduating seniors that have expressed interest in pursuing college business education major.  In addition, DHSF partners with national community-based programs that support individuals in local communities.

What Is The Criteria For Consideration

College-bound graduating high school seniors based on demonstrated academic achievement, community service, financial need, and an expressed interest in pursuing a business administration, business management or closely related academic major field.

When Are DHSF Awards Available

DHSF awards are made annually to students at participating high schools during an open call period for scholarship applications on a competitive application basis.

What Are The Scholarship Award Amounts

At the present time, two $250 scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis to graduating seniors based upon recommendations from the Dr. Ronald E. Hodges Scholarship Fund (DHSF) Committee.  Previous scholarship recipients are unable to reapply.

How Are DHSF Awards Made

DHSF awards made on a recommended basis by a Selection Committee comprised of participating local high school counselors, teachers or other local personnel and the DHSF administration.

Additional Eligibility Information

To be eligible for assistance a student must be a graduating high school senior that reside in the local unified school district, intends to continue their education at an accredited four-year college as evidenced by college acceptance letter(s), and have declared pursuit of a business administration, business management, or closely related academic major. Priority consideration may be given to  academic achievement, financial need, student’s community service record or applicants from historically underrepresented groups.
